“Amma Kavcha” (Mom, snacks?) was my naughty childhood chanting mantra soon after seeing Mom returning back from her office. Knowing her struggle in office, mantra changed to “Do you need coffee, Mom?” 🙂 Childhood days are golden days; where my family used to sit together for evening coffee-snacks with routine serials and narrating the entire day’s story with each other and finding out the solution from parents. Do you remember your childhood memories? You can always share in the comment section.

This snack name is Shakkar para / shankar pali/ shankarpoli and many with respect to each language. “ರೆಸಿಪಿ ಒಂದು ನಾಮ ಹಲವು” (one recipe with different names). I found these tips and tricks will make you confident while frying it out.
Tricks for good taste:
- Make the dough thick, use less than half a cup milk while kneading.
- If dough is soggy, it absorbs more oil while frying.
- Knead the dough atleast for 5 minutes.
- Always fry it on low flame. If fried on high flame, it turns brown soon and inside it will be raw and soft.
