Wheatflour cake recipe/ Theme cake/ Eggless Birthday cake recipe


The delicious birthday cake, eggless version, cake without using Maida (plainflour), without using butter is shown. It is healthier version compared to the plain flour (maida) type cake as we have replaced it with whole wheatflour in the cake. Banana is known for its own nutritional benefits. Here, cake is baked with oven.

How to bake cake without oven?

Cake can be baked without oven: Add 1 cup of salt in a pan, cover it and preheat for 10 minutes and then bake the cake batter for 40-45 minutes. The ingredients or items required and the preparation time is also less. The use of banana in the cake enriches the nutritional benefits, moisture content and also the taste. The speciality of this cake is this is Caterpillar (looks like ;)) cake or theme cake decorating ideas. I feel, the wheat flour is healthier option compared to that of plainflour.

How to bake cake without egg?

The cake becomes moist while adding eggs. The same moisture content can be given by adding 2 large bananas for 2 eggs. You will get a super moist cake recipe. Use the over ripened banana so you will never get the banana flavour in your cake.

The usage of jaggery instead of sugar also enriches the nutritional values. Eggless wheatflour cake is shown here. Substituting the egg with banana, yoghurt and oil. Powder the jaggery before using. Mix it very well using grinder or mixer. It is important to mix the yoghurt or curd with oil very well to get the fluffiness in the cake.

  1. Use thick curd or yoghurt. Sour curd also provides good taste. Balance the sugar accordingly.
  2. Tutti fruti, any dry fruits can be used here.
  3. Use ripened banana.
  4. Do not over bake the cake. Go for toothpick test if needed.
  5. Vanilla can be replaced in place of cardamom here.

1. Wheatflour/ atta/ gehun/ godhi hittu2 cups
2. Sugar1 cup
3. Baking soda0.5tsp
4. Baking powder1.5tsp
5. Cardamom 4 pods
6. Yoghurt/ curdhalf cup
7. Any oil (less smell) like sunflower oil/ coconut oilhalf cup
8. Frosting: Cream2 cups
Ingredients required

Method:

Step 1: Grind 4 pods cardamom, 1 cup sugar, half cup curd, half cup oil, 2 large bananas to fine paste.

Step 2: Grind to thin fine paste (oil and curd mixes well).

Step 3: Sieve 2 cups wheat flour, 0.5 tsp baking soda, 1.5 tsp baking powder.

Step 4: Mix well.

Step 5: Add half cup milk. Mix well.

Step 6: Preheat oven to 180 deg Celsius for 10 minutes.

Step 7: Cake bakes in 30 minutes, test using toothpick. Allow it to cool completely, cut to desired shape.

Step 8: For frosting, whisk 2 cups thickened cream on high speed with half cup powdered sugar till it thickens (5minutes).

Step 9: Add food color and mix well, decorate on cake.

Yummy, healthy, eggless wheatflour cake is ready to serve for birthday celebration, anniversary cakes.
